"You can't do this to me", I said. "I'll show you!!!" And he did. At 17 John went to Australia. At 21 he was top of the charts in Great Britain, USA, Europe, Australia and New Zealand. At 22 he was the youngest performer to headline a major Las Vegas show room, The Flamingo Hotel. In 1980 John was awarded the O.B.E. for his contribution to music and for the promotion of his country overseas.
